Since the first concerts in 1976, the original quartet have come together often, though sometimes after long intervals. Each time it has been a refreshing return to discourse with old friends, who understands each other, but have changed in the meanwhile through new experiences and discoveries. The music draws on the musicians imagination, dreams, experiences and resulting interaction.

For the last few ‘meetings’, the quartet have been enriched by the addition of pianist Peter Jacobsen

It was a long standing plan to issue recordings made in 1978, however on each subsequent meeting intriguing new directions transpired, and with the loss of one master tape we luckily came to make this present recording, where the music flowed with a special quality! and here it is, ‘eleven years that felt like only yesterday’. – Philipp Wachsmann
